The 2025 International WorkBoat Show was a major success, focusing heavily on green tech, autonomous vessels, workforce, and shipbuilding, featuring new pavilions, record attendance, and innovative tech like collision avoidance systems, with highlights including the Alternative Energy Pavilion, the sold-out Women in Maritime Lunch, and recognition for significant vessels like the Houston Pilots' new sisterships, setting a strong foundation for future maritime innovation in New Orleans.
two key components, which Voltari was proudly involved with, were:
-
Green & Alternative Energy: A dedicated Pavilion showcased hybrid propulsion, hydrogen, offshore wind, and sustainable tech, alongside educational sessions on green marine power.
-
Technology & Innovation: Discussions covered autonomous vessels, advanced marine engineering, radar, AI for collision avoidance, and new tools/tech from over 200 new companies.
The International Work Boat Show was also a perfect way to round off a fantastic 2025 for Voltari Electric. The show delivered so many things we were looking forward to: a chance to connect with customers, spark some exciting new supplier collaborations, and prove that marine EV is mission-ready and market-competitive.
At the same time, it looks like it’ll also be our launch pad for a 2026 that’s off the charts. We spent three days having next-level interactions that weren’t common or even possible two or three years ago.
Customers are bringing new questions and new motivations to the EV conversation. The 2022 customer was looking to satisfy an environmental mandate for zero-emissions equipment. The 2025 customer already knows about the low-emissions advantages; they want to talk about fleet-level cost savings, reduced maintenance downtime, better acceleration and speed, operator hearing protection, and tactical advantages like low detectability and increased maneuverability at all speeds. They had questions… and we had answers. Data. Video demonstrations. Costing charts. And a Patrol CC demo vessel that’s been out on the water convincing passengers and operators from coast to coast.
Our competitors in the internal-combustion world confirmed it. The “electric conversation” is here, and it’s not going away. Long-standing customers are looking to incorporate EV into their work fleets. They want to know how suppliers will answer that question. Which brought a whole additional class of conversations to our booth, and our team.
The show was described as a "record-breaking" event, acting as a catalyst for industry growth, pushing boundaries, and energizing professionals for the future of commercial marine. The focus remained on connecting people, exploring new technologies, and addressing current industry challenges head-on.
Look for 2026 to bring some exciting new developments at Voltari including our second annual presence at the International Workboat Show!
