SPECIFICATIONS AND PERFORMANCE

Range

Much like any vehicle, whether it’s EV or fossil-fuel, it really depends on how you drive it. Wind and current conditions are always a factor.

This boat is designed for a full day’s use for most average boaters. For some perspective, you can have a range of up to 40Miles at cruising speed of 30mph, for less than USD$20 (figures based on average US home electricity rates at time of writing). This translates easily to a full day’s use for most boaters.  As with any vehicle, range decreases when pushing higher speeds for longer periods, and increases considerably at idle and slower speeds.

Distances of 100+miles are possible at idle speeds and going 55 MPH will give you less range than cruise speeds. Boating range is not as simple as looking at linear distance (as we do in automotive); most boaters go from place to place, moving through slow-down zones, stopping to swim, anchoring at a beach, rafting up with other boats, oreven tying up at a waterside restaurant or a friend’s dock for a few hours.

Performance boating is about the journey, and your VOLTARI is designed to give you a full day’s experience on the water with your family and friends.

Speed

The VOLTARI 260’s max speed is 55 mph, and it loves to cruise between 25 and 35mph.

Charging

This is the amazing part about boating is that the 220/240 infrastructure is already in place at most marinas and docks. Simply add your VOLTARI charger and plug the boat in when you are done using it. Enjoy a full charge overnight as you sleep.

VOLTARI’s dockside chargers are compatible with existing infrastructure of 220V power hookups provided at marinas for other types of boats. A VOLTARI operator can use them to recharge at any location offering marine power pedestals.

Charging Times

You can charge at your own dock by adding a marine pedestal with 50a or 100a service, or at a marina using their 50a or 100a pedestal in combination with a VOLTARI or off-the-shelf charger, or you can plug in to a fast charger.

A 50a charge can run overnight at 13.5 hours, a 100a charge takes 8 hours, and a VOLTARI supercharger can complete a full charge in 45 minutes. Imagine never carrying another jerry can again or wasting valuable time lining up at your local marina waiting for fuel.

Our chargers connect to the boat with an industry-standard J1772 connector, so you can also charge your VOLTARI 260 on your trailer at almost any automotive charging station.

Chargers

You can use any marine 50a or 100a service in combination with a VOLTARI-supplied charger, or—because the VOLTARI 260 uses a standard automotive J1772 charging
port--you can charge your VOLTARI with any off-the-shelf EV charger.

If you want to install a VOLTARI charger at your cottage or dock, we will be happy to provide guidance and specifications to you or your electrical contractor, to make sure you are all set for a day on the water.

What do I do if the battery runs out when I’m at sea?

Honestly, the same as if you run out of gas or diesel. With any boat, it’s a great idea to plan for these things and watch your fuel/charge levels.

If your battery charge falls below 10%, your VOLTARI alerts you and puts the boat into power-saving mode to give you maximum range on your remaining charge.

If you burn out your entire charge on the high-voltage battery, as with a fossil-fuel boat, your 12v battery will still be fully charged, running your USB ports to charge your mobile, and running your VHF to support a distress signal or a radio call.

OWNERSHIP

Differentiation

Simply put, VOLTARI set out to make a better boat. Our value proposition combines high-grade materials, the most advanced technology, top-drawer service and a thrilling high-performance boating experience – that happens to be electric.

VOLTARI is the world’s first electric Performance day boat, and our goal is nothing short of redefining the industry.

Handling Rough Water

Our hulls are made of carbon fiber and are the latest generation of legendary world championship Deep-Vee 24 degree deadrise  performance designs.

Put the bow into the waves and watch it eat!!

Maintenance

Like any boat, ours requires basic maintenance to your boat components and outdrive.
That said, EV power trains are virtually maintenance-free.

No oil changes, no engine overhauls, no fuel line checks.  Simply charge it up and have fun.

Manufacturing

In North America: our propulsion systems are manufactured in Seattle and engineered in
Montreal QC; our batteries, powertrain systems and hulls are manufactured in Quebec, and the finishing work takes place at Fort VOLTARI on the UNESCO-world-heritage Rideau Canal waterway in historic Merrickville, ON. Our USA HQ is at Pier Sixty-Six in Fort-Lauderdale, Florida.

Noise

Experienced boaters can’t believe the silence of a VOLTARI. The experience of hearing only the sound of wind, water and your friends talking to you casually at 30mph is completely unique. You will now hear the minimal sounds made by your power steering and outdrive that were drowned out by engine noise before.

Customizations

This boat comes fully loaded with amazing lighting and world-class stereo from Rockford Fosgate, ultra-luxurious marine-grade Alcantara hand-stitched interior, custom SeaDek, and much more. Customers can choose colors for exterior Gelcoat finish and for interior Alcantara textiles, stitching and SeaDek. Trailer and dock charger are also optional add-ons.
